FAU is Europe's leading scientific research institution and is ranked No.2 among the most innovative universities in Europe.
To meet the rapidly growing demand for computing resources, FAU initiated the construction of Alex, a very large scale high-performance cluster, and opened the resources to researchers from other German universities as part of the "German NATIONAL HPC Infrastructure Alliance (NHR Alliance).
KAYTUS Solution:
32 NF5488A5 HGX-A100 and 38 NF5468A5 with 8-card A40 GPU servers, performance (FP64) can reach nearly 5PetaFlops
The cluster is interconnected through a high-speed HDR200 InfiniBand network that can meet the performance requirements of single and double precision computing in both molecular dynamics simulation and AI scenarios.
